There's a lot happening this weekend in Birmingham, but if you do go out, make sure you keep an umbrella handy because the weather could be on the rainy side.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday is forecasted to have a high of 61 degrees, but expect areas of frost in the early morning. There is an 80 percent chance of rain, and possible thunderstorms could roll in after 11 a.m. New rainfall could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
The rain and storms could pose a problem for the line-up of events scheduled for Birmingham Saturday and Sunday, including the 'Our Town Art Show and Sale' and the Birmingham Farmers' Market.
Saturday night, the low will dip down to 59 degrees, and the chance of precipitation is still high at 60 percent. Again, more new rainfall could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. Sunday night will be much warmer at 71 degrees, but an 80 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms holds steady. Sunday night, the low will be 47 degrees, and the chance of rain will diminish slightly.
Looking ahead to Monday, the chance of rain drops down to 30 percent and so does the temperature, looking ahead to a high of just 54 degrees.
