Weekend Spotlight: Caroling, Caroling: An Alfred Burt Family Christmas

What's going on this weekend around Birmingham? Patch wants to tell you!

The weekend has just ended, but we love to plan ahead. Let's cover some of the fun events happening this weekend. We will give you a new idea every day; what a deal, right?

Our pick for today:

  • Where:
  • When: 4 p.m. Sunday
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: On Sunday, the combined choirs of  and All Saints' Episcopal Church in Pontiac join forces to pay homage to the late Alfred Burt, who created fifteen Christmas Carols between 1942-1954. Burt studied music at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and became a renowned jazz musician through the 1940's and 50's. The choirs, a harpist, flutist, handbell ringers and junior choir will perform Burt's carols that have become known around the world.
