From a class reunion to the pond and water garden tour, there's something for everyone this weekend.

  1. Where: Arab American National Musuem in Dearborn
    When:
    Thursday-Sunday
    Why go:
    Celebrate diversity throughout Metro Detroit all weekend at the Concert of Colors. Other locations include the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Scarab Club, Detroit Institute of Arts and the Max M. Fisher Music Center.

  2. Where:
    Yellow Door Art Market in Berkley
    When:
    10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday
    Why go:
    Children of all ages are invited to visit Santa Claus during his summer break, starring award-winning author Jeffrey Schatzer of Bellaire. Schatzer will don a Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops as he signs copies of his Christmas-themed books. The Yellow Door Art Market will be giving away Christmas-themed treats and free ornaments.

  3. Where:
    Radisson Hotel in Bloomfield Hills
    When:
    6:30 p.m.-midnight Saturday
    Why go:
    The Class of 1971 will get together to boogie down during its 40th reunion dinner and dance. Looking for last-minute information? Check out the class website at seaholmclassof71.com.

  4. Where:
    3325 Franklin Rd., Bloomfield Hills
    When:
    10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine
    Why go:
    The Michigan Koi and Pond Club will host its 13th annual Pond and Water Garden Tour, a self-guided tour at the E.L. Johnson Nature Center and in nine other area backyards. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.

  5. Where:
    All metroparks
    When:
    Sunday
    Why go:
    Pack a picnic lunch, grab the children and spend some time at one of Michigan's fabulous metroparks, which will offer special activities for children all day Sunday. While most activities are free, vehicle entrance to all parks costs $5.
