Weekend Planner: Gospel Concert, Mom 2 Mom Sale

A book signing at Auto Zone Hobbies and the VegMichigan Dinner Club also headline this weekend's events.

  1. Where:

    When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Gospel singer, member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as well as five-time Grammy 11-time Dove award winner Larnelle Harris will be taking the stage at First United Methodist Church in Birmingham this Saturday. Harris's top songs include How Excellent Is Thy Name, I Miss My Time With You and Mighty Spirit.

  2. Where:
    Bowers School Farm at 1219 E. Square Lake Rd. in Bloomfield Hills
    When: Friday from 5-9 p.m., Saturday from 4-9 p.m., Sunday from noon-4 p.m.
    Why Go: Put on your best fall sweater and check out the towering corn maze (and a straw maze for the little ones), wagon rides, pumpkin picking, farm animals and pony rides. Your $8 ticket covers all mazes, a wagon ride and access to the farm animals.

  3. Where:
    Our Shepherd Lutheran Church
    When: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Do you have a little one? Then you know how quickly they grow out of clothes and toys, so why not do some mom-to-mom swapping this weekend? Our Shepherd's Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group will be hosting a Mom 2 Mom sale with everything from clothing, baby items, books, and toys. There will be approximately 30 tables and strollers are allowed.

  4. Where:

    When: 9 a.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Jim Dunne will be available to sign his new book Car Spy: Secret Cars Exposed by the Industry's Most Notorious Photographer.

    and
    When: 7 p.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Looking to go vegan or at least see what it's all about? The VegMichigan Dinner Club be visiting Zumba Mexican Grille and Sweet Earth Saturday, with guided menus and discussion. Diners must only pay for their food and the event is open to anyone.
