Weekend Planner: Black and White Soiree, Groves Football

  1. Where: Downtown Royal Oak
    When:
    Friday-Monday
    Why Go:
    Come to check out the more than 250 music acts and stay for the art displays and food from more than 65 restaurants and vendors. The annual event will also feature displays from Ford and cooking demonstrations.

  2. Where:

    When:
    9 p.m. Sunday
    Why Go:
    Wear your best black and white to check out the Black and White Soiree. DJ Ray, DJ Polo, and NYC DJ Rob-Play will be spinning tunes inside the club, while the Channel 955 Bomb Squad will be playing music on the patio. Guests must be 21 and up.

  3. Where:
    Bloomfield Galleries at 79 W. Long Lake Rd.
    When:
    All September
    Why Go:
    Bloomfield Galleries will be displaying the exhibit The Appeal of the Figure: An Array of Styles Expressing the Human Form throughout the month of September. Figurative pieces ranging in style from realism to cubism will be prominently displayed with hundreds of additional pieces and subjects also available to view. All works are available for purchase.
  4. Groves vs. North Farmington football
    Where:

    When: 7 p.m. Friday
    Why Go: It's the first home football game of the season for the Groves High School Falcons. They face off against the North Farmington Raiders, who lost to Seaholm High School last week 48-14.
  5. Michigan Peach Festival
    Where:
    Village of Romeo
    When: Thursday-Monday
    Why Go: Celebrate September with the Michigan Peach Festival in downtown Romeo this weekend, featuring dozens of peach dishes, a Floral Parade, a car show as well as a 5K and 10K walk. Tickets are free.
