Weekend Planner: Art Show, Shakespeare's Globe on the Screen, Free Yoga and More

'Our Town Art Show and Sale'

  • When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday
  • Where: The Community House
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Now in its 27th year, the event is bigger than ever. Celebrate works from Michigan artists while funding TCH programs and initiatives within the community.

Birmingham Gallery Presents "Organic Roots" a Fundraiser for the Pink Fund

  • When: 7 p.m. Friday
  • Where: The Birmingham Gallery (33772 Woodward Ave.)
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Support the fight against breast cancer at the special photographic works exhibit. 10% of all framing sales will be donated to The Pink Fund, a local non-profit that offers short-term non-medical financial assistance to those breast cancer patients in active treatment.

Shakespeare's Globe on Screen

  • When: 7 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: Birmingham 8
  • Cost: $12.50
  • Why Go: During this three-part series, experience on the big-screen three of Shakespeare's plays- All's Well that Ends Well, Much Ado about Nothing, Doctor Faustus- all of which were performed at London's Globe Theatre.

Pipe Organ Concert

  • When: 3 p.m. Sunday
  • Where: First Baptist Church
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Spend your Sunday afternoon in a relaxing way by enjoying classical organ pieces at First Baptist Church in Birmingham. The event will feature international Concert Organist Aram Basmadjian, one of the most accomplished young organ virtuosos in America.

Community Yoga

  • When: 4 p.m. Sunday
  • Where: Powerhouse Gym
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Relax during this slow flow yoga class, located at the studio inside of Powerhouse Gym. No matter your experience, all skill levels are welcome to enjoy this moving meditation set to soothing music, soft lighting and a little heat.
