Viewfinder: Students Skate Their Break Away

Open skate at the Birmingham Ice Sports Arena was a hot spot for area students during mid-winter break.

Three open skating sessions were offered for all ages this week at the while Birmingham students enjoyed their mid-winter break.

Monday kicked off slow, perhaps because of the weather, Connie Folk, Recreation Coordinator said. However, Wednesday brought dozens of kids together to share the rink during open skate from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

"There has been a pretty good turnout this week," Folk said.
