Viewfinder: Birmingham's Dash for Destiny Brings Runners Downtown

The Junior League of Birmingham's third annual Dash for Destiny was held Sunday morning in downtown Birmingham.

Hundreds of racers turned out Sunday morning for the third annual , a 5K and one-mile fun run in downtown Birmingham, organized by the .

Also sponsoring the event was the nonprofit organization Wachler Comfort Bears for Kids, which donates teddy bears to hospitals and other organizations in order to help children through tough times. Children competing in the fun run received a comfort bear when they crossed the finish line.

The winners of the fun run were twins Nicholas Murray (first overall) and Emma Murray (first girl) of Berkley. The 5K race was won by Zack Bolton of Birmingham, with the first female award going to Andrea Karl of Macomb Township.
