Viewfinder: 150 Artists' Booths Line the Streets of Birmingham
The annual Birmingham Street Art Fair is underway downtown this weekend.
Birmingham’s 37th , located on Merrill and Old Woodward Streets, drew more than 150 artists from all over the United States exhibiting ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography, glass, sculptures and more Saturday.
With sunny weather holding strong all day, the crowd continued to grow with attendees of all ages. A special children’s activity zone featuring hands-on projects offered by the Detroit Institute of Arts and wheelchairs provided on site by Wright and Filippis are also available.
Proceeds from the event will help support Common Ground, an Oakland County nonprofit that provides emergency help for families in crisis. A special silent auction that featured work donated by artists present at the Fair also generated funds for the agency.
