'Significant Icing,' Sleet and Snow Possible Beginning Tuesday Evening

A winter storm watch is in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.

Just when we thought winter might finally be a memory, a late-season winter storm is threatening to barrel through southeastern Michigan, bringing with it snow, sleet and a half inch or more of ice.

The storm is expected to move through the region Tuesday night and into Wednesday, blanketing the region with a wintry mix of precipitation and potentially large amounts of icing.

A winter storm watch is in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday through 8 p.m. Wednesday, and some areas north of Detroit could get as much as 6 inches of snow in addition to large amounts of ice.
