School Board to Name New Superintendent Monday Night

The Birmingham Board of Education will choose between Daniel Nerad and Robert Shaner at a special meeting Monday night.

The Birmingham Board of Education will pick Birmingham's next superintendent Monday night after interviewing candidates for two weeks.

The choice comes down to Robert Shaner, executive director of instruction and technology with Warren Consolidated Schools and Daniel Nerad, superintendent of the Madison Metropolitan School District.

After the , the pair were , during which Shaner and Nerad gave 15-minute presentations to the school board after touring various buildings in the school district.

The school board is working to replace , who announced in late March that he would be taking a superintendent position in Glenbard Township, IL.

The school district is looking to fill the superintendent position by July 1.
