Rain Expected All Weekend, Snow Could Arrive Sunday Night

There's an 80 percent chance of rain on Saturday during the Magic of Birmingham shopping event.

If you'll be out and about this weekend, you might want to bring your umbrellas.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 80 percent chance of rain in Birmingham on Saturday, mainly before noon. The high will be near 41 degrees while winds are expected to blow between seven and 10 miles per hour.

And so, bring a jacket if you'll be out at the Magic of Birmingham Saturday (or take advantage of the new valet parking!). The event lasts from noon-4 p.m. throughout downtown Birmingham, beginning with a Kids Holiday Parade at 1 p.m.

On Saturday night, the skies will be mostly cloudy with a low of 32 degrees. The rain returns on Sunday, with a 70 percent chance of rain all day. The skies will be cloudy otherwise with a high of 45 degrees.

That rain could turn into snow on Sunday night, with a chance of rain before 1 a.m. that could turn into snow later in the evening. The low is expected to reach 35 degrees and the chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

The Monday morning commute, meanwhile could be messy. There's a chance of rain and snow all day Monday, with a high of 38 degrees.
