Need To Know: Easter Services at Birmingham Churches

Birmingham churches have dozens of services planned for the Easter holiday.

Area churches are celebrating Easter in a big way this year. Following is this year’s schedule of services across Birmingham:

  • Easter: Mass will be held at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday.
  • More info: Mass is also held weekly on Thursdays at 10 a.m.

  • Easter: Services will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday at Kensington's Birmingham campus at .
  • More info: To reserve your spot for Easter, visit www.kensingtonchurch.org to book your free ticket.

  • Easter: Services will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
  • More info: For more information on Holy Saturday services at St. James, including Easter Vigil and the First Eucharist of Easter, visit www.stjamesbirmingham.org.

  • Easter: An Easter sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m., followed by services at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • More info: For more information on Easter Vigil services Saturday, visit www.ourshepherd.net/.

  • Easter: The children and youth Easter program begins at 9:30 p.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m.
  • More info: Coffee and fellowship will take place at 10:30 a.m., and there will be another Easter program at 6 p.m. Sunday.

  • Easter: There will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m. in the Chambliss Outdoor Worship Center (service will be held indoors in case of inclement weather). Traditional serivces will be held at 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. There will also be a contemporary worship service at 11 a.m. in the Christian Life Center.
  • More info: The 7 a.m. sunrise service will be led by Pastor Chad Oyer while John Harnish will lead the 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. traditional services. Rev. Brian William will led the contemporary service.

  • Easter: Services will held at 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • Easter: Services will be held at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
  • More info: Join the Hallelujah Chorus on Easter morning during the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. service. You will be provided with a copy of the music, or you can obtain a copy in advance by contacting Steve SeGraces, Linda Clark or Cherrise Baetz. Plus, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service.

  • Easter: Services will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon.

  • Easter: An Easter service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
  • More info: Members of First Baptist will travel to the Second Baptist Church of Detroit to participate in their early sunrise Easter service at 7 a.m. Back in Birmingham, an Easter breakfast will take place at 9 a.m. and following the 10:30 a.m. service, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt.
