UPDATE: Power Restored to More Than 1,000 DTE Customers Thursday Night

The power went out Wednesday night for more than 1,000 customers DTE Energy customers in southeastern Birmingham.

After a storm Wednesday night knocked out the power for more than 1,000 DTE customers in Birmingham Thursday, only four homes remained without power by 11 p.m. Thursday.

At one point, the online DTE Energy map indicated that 1,102 customers were without power, primarily a large cluster of homes south of West Maple Road and east of Woodward Avenue. The power was expected to come back on between 5-8 p.m. Thursday for the majority of homes.

The power was knocked out some time Wednesday . Oakland County was under a flood warning until 11 a.m. Thursday.

The county is under a flash flood watch until 11 a.m. Friday with more showers and thunderstorms expected overnight.
