UPDATE: City Issues Emergency Parking Ban In Preparation for Overnight Storm

Forecast calls for 2-5 inches of additional snow the next day.

More snow is on its way to Birmingham Thursday night and Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Oakland County from 2-11 a.m. Friday, with the roads expected to be covered by 2-4 inches of snow during the morning commute, reducing visibility. The bulk of the snow is expected to fall between 3-9 a.m. and wind gusts could blow as hard as 30 mph.

In advance of the advisory, Birmingham issued an emergency parking ban Thursday afternoon, effective at midnight, making it a civil infraction to park a car, or allow it to remain parked, on a city street until it's been cleared of snow.
