Viewfinder: Harvest Festival Attracts Hundreds of Families to Birmingham

Corn shelling, hat decorating and loads of food brought hundreds to the Farmers Market Sunday.

Area residents had a gorgeous day to enjoy the food and fun offered at the Birmingham Farmers Market on Sunday.

Many parents attended the festival with their kids in tow, knowing there would be a variety of family-oriented activities. A petting zoo, corn shelling station, hat decorating booth and more were available for children to partake in. Hickory Hills Farm put together a large exhibit of tools for families to browse, and a sheep shearing demonstration was scheduled as well.

"We come here a lot," said Naomi Schwartz, of Beverly Hills, who brought 2-year-old daughter, Emma, on Sunday. "There are a lot of kid activities here so it's nice."
