The Birmingham Youth Assistance will be hosting a Touch-a-Truck event at Bingham Farms Elementary.

Wondering what to do with yourself this weekend? Don't dismay: check out today's Weekend Spotlight:

Our pick for today: Touch-a-Truck

  • When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday
  • Where:
  • Cost: $5 donation encouraged
  • Why Go: The will be celebrating its fifth year of Touch-a-Truck, during which kids will have the chance to check out big rigs up close and personal. For a $5 donation, kids can also climb over the vehicles and talk to the drivers.

“We are so fortunate to be able to present this fun family event to our local community”, said Russ Facione, chair of BYA’s Touch-a-Truck event.  “We have all of the best trucks present, from fire trucks to police vehicles, big rigs to cranes, we’ve got them! All kids enjoy being able to sit in the cabs of the trucks, and act like they are driving their very own rig. And this year we will even have a BPS school bus as well.”
