Get Out: Marshmallow Drop, Baseball Games and More

From a CPR class to an Earth Day celebration at Zazio's, there's something for everyone this weekend.

  1. Where: Southfield Park at 27725 Greenfield Rd.
    When: 10 a.m.-noon Friday
    Why Go: Parents and children are invited to watch more than 15,000 marshmallows drop out of a helicopter. After the drop, children ages 3 and older can collect the marshmallows and turn them in for a prize-filled egg.

  2. Where:
    When: Thursday-Saturday
    Why Go: This special Chef's Table event will feature selection from Michigan farmers and food producers.
  3. Seaholm Varsity Baseball Game
    Where:
    When: 11 a.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Don't feel like driving downtown for a Tigers game? Hit up a game closer to home when the Seaholm Maples face off against Walled Lake at home Saturday. Junior varsity plays at 11 a.m. at Walled Lake.

  4. Where:
    When: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday
    Why Go: Learn how to save a life at this CPR class offered by the Birmingham Fire Department. Training in Automated External Defibrillation (A.E.D.) is included. After completion of the course, participants will receive an AHA CPR card with an expiration date of two years. The class costs $25. To sign up, call 248-530-1900.
  5. Easter Services
    Where: Area Birmingham churches
    When: Sunday
    Why Go: Birmingham churches will be hosting several Easter services throughout the day Sunday.
