Fuel Report: Lowest Area Prices Reaching $3.49 a Gallon
Birmingham's cheapest gas nearly 10 cents lower than the Metro Detroit average.
Judging by the sunshine, it's trying to be spring this morning across Metro Detroit. As gas prices continue to climb, (Birmingham's per gallon price is $3.69 this morning) the city's lowest prices are coming in well below area averages at $3.49 a gallon.
According to AAA, the price for a gallon of regular gas in Metro Detroit is $3.58, up from $2.80 at this time last year and $3.54 a week ago.
The cheapest price near Metro Detroit on Monday morning was $3.31 a gallon in Flint, while the second-cheapest could be found near Burton, at $3.34 a gallon.
