Fuel Report: Gas Prices Holding Steady, Still Higher Than $3.50 a Gallon

Birmingham prices are higher than Metro Detroit averages though are still hovering around $3.55 a gallon.

It's the first week of spring and despite the rain, high temperatures are expected reach 62 degrees today. However, with gas prices still hovering around $3.55 a gallon, breaking free of the winter "blahs" may be harder than you think as prices at the pump continue to climb.

According to AAA, the price for a gallon of regular gas in Metro Detroit is $3.54, up from $2.85 at this time last year and $3.53 a week ago.

The cheapest price in the Detroit area Monday morning, for the second week in a row, was $3.34 in Richmond, while the second-cheapest could be found near Flint, at $3.36 a gallon.
