The second-annual Birmingham Bike Festival will begin at 8 a.m. Aug. 26 in downtown Birmingham.

Birmingham recently honored two of its own, recognizing Jeff and Michael Surnow, founding sponsors and organizers of the Birmingham Bike Festival.

The Surnow brothers were honored last week by Birmingham Mayor Mark Nickita for their "committment to improving the health and livability of the community through the creation and support of the Birmingham Bike Festival."
