Detroit News Columnist Neal Rubin to Visit Birmingham

Birmingham's Community Education through Collaboration And Communication will host the humorous columnist at its next networking event April 18.

 

Neal Rubin will bring his unique brand of humor and observations to Birmingham for a special event hosted by the Community Education through Collaboration And Communication (CECAC) next Thursday, April 18 at 9 a.m. at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course.

The long-time Detroit News columnist will speak at the networking event following a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Participation is free and the public is welcome.

Rubin grew up in Southern California and Colorado, and attended the University of Northern Colorado on a “7-card stud scholarship,” he said in a press release. He moved to Michigan in 1984.

“CECAC looks forward to having (him),” said CECAC co-chair Kim Pickell.“He’ll speak about individuals who have faced and overcome their challenges and were able to turn them in to something good. The subject is one that we’re sure will resonate with our guests.”

Networking opportunities will follow Rubin's talk.Time is also given to networking.

CECAC is a collaborative partnership between the Birmingham Public Schools, Birmingham Community Education and other school-
based organizations. It recently expanded to include a variety of community schools, organizations and individuals, and aims to improve the quality of life for individuals by linking home, school and community through communication and collaboration.
