UPDATE: Cranbrook Road to Close South of Lincoln Starting Friday

The Road Commission for Oakland County is closing the road for emergency sewer work.

Residents of Birmingham, Beverly Hills or : if you use Cranbrook Road to travel between 14 Mile and Maple Road, you might have to pick an alternate route starting Friday.

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will be closing a portion of Cranbrook Road from 14 Mile Road — near the and — north to Lincoln Avenue from Jan. 27 through Feb. 5.

During that period, RCOC spokesman Craig Bryson said the Oakland County Water Resources Commission will make emergency repairs to the 60-inch and 96-inch sewers under Cranbrook Road — known as Evergreen Road south of 14 Mile in Beverly Hills, and Covington Road north of Maple in Bloomfield Township.

To get around the construction, the RCOC suggests the following detours:

  • West on 14 Mile to Lahser Road, north to Maple Road, then back east to Cranbrook.
  • East on 13 Mile to Southfield Road, north to Maple, then back west to Cranbrook.
