Choo Choo! Model Trains Roar Into Birmingham for the Holidays

The Birmingham Historical Museum's annual holiday model train exhibit opens Saturday, along with an exhibit of toys from the 1920s.

The twinkle lights are going up, Santa comes to town next week and the holiday season has just about come to town as the Birmingham Historical Museum and Park gets ready for Saturday's opening of their annual model train exhibit.

Stop by anytime this holiday season through Jan. 12 to check out the annual exhibit, featuring more than four trains on elevated tracks. Every year, the display mixes holiday trains with plenty of colorful modern locomotives, like the Hogwarts Express or a Lego train.

This year, the Birmingham Historical Museum is celebrating the Roaring Twenties and will be integrating model train styles and backdrops from Birmingham's early 20th century past.
