Camille Jayne Named Community House CEO and President

Executive with deep Michigan roots is coming home.

will soon be under new leadership of Camille Jayne as the cultural institution's new CEO and president.

Deborah Schrot, executive director of The Community House, made the announcement Tuesday.

"I look forward to working with Camille on Community House projects and programming," Schrot said. "Camille brings new resources and ideas and together, we will be shaping the future growth and legacy of The Community House."

Jayne is a longtime resident of the Birmingham area and has held executive positions at various corporations in southeastern Michigan and California. After graduating from Cranbrook, Jayne received her bachelor's degree and MFA in design from Stanford University and her MBA in marketing from the University of Michigan.

She's held executive positions at Comerica Bank and Ameritech, serving as chairman and CEO of Universal Electronics, Inc., a consumer electronics company in southern California. She is the founder of The JAYNE Group, a strategic planning and business management consulting firm, and Matters at Hand, a personal wealth management firm.

Jayne has served on the Cranbrook Board of Governors, establishing the Jayne Endowment Scholarship fund at Cranbrook and headed several fundraising efforts for Girls, Inc., and the National Association of Women Business Owners.

For Jayne, working for The Community House is a homecoming. Her home is currently under construction in Bloomfield Hills. She said she's excited to move back to Michigan where her mother, sister and in-laws still live.

"I am extremely excited to join The Community House team in partnership with Debbie Schrot," she said. "I look forward to continuing the great work that Shelley, Debbie and The Community House team have established, as well as helping to make The Community House an event more important anchor and destination point for the southeastern Michigan community."

Donald J. Kunz, chair of The Community House board of directors, said Jayne's experience in the business community would be invaluable. It's been a year of changes for The Community House; and .

"The combination of Debbie's invaluable insights from 16 years at The Community House with Camille's corporation and business educational successes will ensure The Community House can continue to provide the services our constituents enjoy," he said.

Jayne will begin working full-time at The Community House Monday.
