While the end of Daylight Saving Times means an extra hour of sleep, it also means the sun comes up an hour earlier — and goes down a little earlier as well.
Last week, before Daylight Saving Time ended, the sun was coming up around 8 a.m. This week, the sun should be coming up around 7:15 a.m., according to www.sunrisesunset.com.
The biggest difference, though, may be the time when it starts getting dark. While the sun was going down around 6:30 p.m. last week, this week it's been getting dark around 5:20 p.m. instead.
As the month goes on, expect the sunrises later in the morning and the sunsets earlier in the evening — around 5 p.m. on Nov. 30. Find the entire November sunrise and sunset calendar for Birmingham at SunriseSunset.com.
Looking forward to springing forward out of winter's darker days? Daylight Saving Time begins again on March 10, 2013.
