Have your coat handy this weekend because it's looking to be another wet and cold one in Birmingham.
According to the National Weather Service, the high Saturday will be 45 degrees though there's a 80 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m. Winds will blow between six and 13 miles per hour and less than a tenth of an inch of rain could accumulate.
Saturday night, the rain is likely to continue, with temperatures dipping down to 40 degrees and the skies clouding over. The chain of rain is 70 percent.
On Sunday, things aren't any better though the chance for rain is less. The skies will be cloudy with a high near 53 degrees. There's a 40 percent chance of rain all day.
Sunday night however, the chance of rain continues before 1 a.m. and then there's a 30 percent chance of mixed rain and snow showers. Lows will dip down to 39 degrees.
The wet weather doesn't bode well for the second weekend of the Magic of Birmingham, the downtown shopping event featuring strolling carolers and giveaways at participating shops. However, you could also stay inside this weekend and check out the full line-up of concerts and plays. For more, check out this week's Birmingham Patch Weekend Planner.
Looking ahead to Monday, the chance of snow continues while temperatures will reach a high of 42 degrees.
