5 Things To Know This Week: Shop & Champagne, 'The Immigrant's Tale' and More

Here's what you need to know about Birmingham this week.

  1. City Commission to meet Monday: The Birmingham City Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. On the agenda is the final site plan review for the Stoney River Steakhouse.
  2. Shop & Champagne fundraiser Wednesday: The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center's (BBAC) annual holiday fundraiser, Shop & Champagne, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the BBAC. The event celebrates the opening of the BBAC's holiday shop and features food from a variety of local restaurants and caterers.
  3. 'The Immigrant's Tale' Tuesday: The latest free lecture from the Friends of the Birmingham Historical Museum and Park will be from Birmingham Eccentric editor Greg Kowalski as he discusses 'The Immigrant's Tale' and the history of Hamtramck. The lecture is free and takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Baldwin Public Library.
  4. Networking mixer Tuesday: The Blackwood Business Club — Detroit will host an exclusive networking event at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Zazios. The event includes appetizers and exclusive drink specials. Tickets are $15 early and $20 at the door.
  5. Learn about the IA Wednesday: Learn about the International Academy this week at 7 p.m. this Wednesday at Baldwin Public Library. Comes to hear about the IA, the program requirements and have your questions answered.
