New Year's Resolutions for Your Child's Health: Birmingham's Friends of Different Learners presents "New Year's Resolutions for Your Child's Health & Education at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Covington School. Speaking will be Katherine Erlich, board certified pediatrician at Healing the Whole Child.

  4. What's open around town: City Hall and various other institutions around Birmingham will be closed Monday and Tuesday for the holiday.
