  1. City Commission, Planning Board to meet: The Birmingham City Commission will meet for a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, while the city's Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Most meetings will take place on the second floor of .

League of Women Voters to hold candidate forums: The League of Women Voters will hold candidate forums for those running for the Library Board and the Birmingham City Commission in the Nov. 8 election. The library board forum begins at 6:30 p.m. while the city commission forum begins at 7:15 p.m. Both forums will take place in the basement of .
