Connecting with the fans: WWJ Newsradio 950 Unwired Coffee Series discuss social media and sports teams

Detroit sports teams are using social media to make better, deeper connections with their fan base. Their expertise in connecting with their audience will be explored in Social Media Marketing:  How Sports Teams Connect With Their Fans and How You Can Too, part of the WWJ Newsradio 950 Unwired Coffee Series. Attendees will better understand how social media can forge deeper relationships with customers and even prospects too, using the sports team/sports fan model. The event will be held at Lawrence Technological University (UTLC Gallery, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield) on November 14 beginning at  7.30 a.m. with networking, registration and continental breakfast,  followed by a moderated panel discussion from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Panelists who are scheduled to appear with WWJ Newsradio 950 Technology Editor Matt Roush include Kevin Currie, director of digital media at the Detroit Lions, Ayron Sequeira, Director of Integrated Media for the Detroit Red Wings and Doug Wernert, Manager of Brand Networks, who works with the Detroit Pistons. "Detroit sports teams have a stellar reputation of connecting with their fans, and this connection is crucial for the continued popularity and support of the teams,” said Roush. “Businesses of all kinds can gain valuable knowledge by understanding how social media can be used to improve their own connection with customers.”
