Visions for Vacancies: What Do You Think Should Fill This Downtown Corner?

We know Play Birmingham wanted to move into this space at 270 N. Old Woodward, but what else do you think would fit in this empty space near the heart of downtown?

The empty space at the corner of North Old Woodward and Hamilton Row is a gaping reminder of Birmingham's downtown vacancies. The spot at 270 N. Old Woodward, once home to Arhaus Furniture, returned to public attention after Play Birmingham wanted to move in last year.

Still, this vacant corner spot near the heart of downtown — and just a stone's throw from the busy Palladium 12 Theater — has other potential, so Birmingham Patch wants to know: What's your vision for this building? Should Play Birmingham keep fighting for the space, or should something else move there instead?

You don't need to be a commercial developer or city planner — or have money to invest in a business project — to have the next great idea. We want to hear about it.
