Townsend Hotel Bakery to Close to Make Way for Lavazza Coffee Partnership

The Townsend Hotel Bakery will close Saturday through Feb. 9 as the hotel renovates the space and updates the menu.

The Townsend Hotel Bakery will be closing Saturday to make way for new partnership between the hotel and Lavazza Coffee, an premier Italian coffee brand.

According to Townsend Managing Director Steven Kalczynski, the bakery will be closed through Feb. 9 while the hotel renovates the space and upgrades the menu. Involved in this process will be the Townsend Hotel's .

"The Townsend Bakery team is certainly excited about these changes," Kalczynski said. "Of course, the Townsend Bakery will continue to offer the region's finest cakes, cookies and sandwiches."

Founded in 1895 in Turin, Lavazza Coffee is a leading coffee brand in Italy — branded as "Italy's favorite coffee — and is sold in 90 countries worldwide.

Nearby, Lavazza is sold at Pistachio in West Bloomfield. Kalczynski said while the bakery itself will be closed, patrons can still order the hotel's cakes, cookies and sandwiches by calling 248-644-6506.
