Penske, Ilitch, Gilbert Put Birmingham Area on Forbes 400 List

Eleven Michiganders in all are on the list, including regulars from the Bloomfield area.

Nearly a dozen Michigan billionaires are named on Forbes list of the 400 Richest Americans in 2013. Regulars on the list include Dan Gilbert, of Franklin,  at 115, Mike and Marian Ilitch of Bingham Farms, at 157, and Alfred Taubman of Bloomfield Hills at 201. 

The richest pair in the state are Hank and Doug Meijer, co-chairmen of the Michigan-based supermarket chain, with a net worth of $8.3 billion.

Bill Gates was ranked the #1 richest man in America, a title he's held since 1994. He has a net worth of $72 billion.
