MOU with Chinese Hints at Hundreds of Jobs, Significant Investment in Oakland County

The relationship between Oakland County and Hai'an County in China has developed over two years of exchange visits.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson is hosting a breakfast meeting with a government delegation from China Friday to sign a memorandum of understanding that could lead to the creation of hundreds of new jobs and significant economic development in the area.

Patterson and his counterpart from Hai’an County in China will sign the agreement at the the Iroquois Club, 43248 N. Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills. It’s a typical first step for the Chinese government before private investment can take place outside the country, Brooks said in a news release.

The relationship between Oakland County and Hai’an has developed over two years as officials from each have visited the other country several times.
