How did your business come to be?

I lost my job. Received a small severance. My husband had the summer off. Years earlier at our place in Frankfort, Michigan while hand painting the sign for "Gary Kulak Sculpture". I asked what about me. My husband asked what do you want to be. I didn't hesitate and said "other Fun Stuff". He painted, "Gary Kulak Sculpture...and other Fun Stuff! That's where the name came from. I took the severance money, bought gift product, set up a shop in the pole barn for the summer. Put out a sandwich board sign and grand opening flags at the street to bring people in. It was such a success that I opened a year round shop in Adams Square in Birmingham after the summer and the Frankfort store in the pole barn is open seasonally.

Why did you choose the area you did?

Both shops are an extension of my life with Gary Kulak and my love for the communities we live in Michigan.
