We offer a customized senior care plan and hourly consulting for families and professionals with elder care concerns and problems. ElderCompass provides unbiased, personalized, and comprehensive care-related solutions in a time and space when others may be motivated by referral fees and those recommendations that are not always the right fit for the circumstance. Our written plans include online, Skype/Google Hangout/ or personal home visit versions for a reasonable fee. The plan is available electronically or in a written form- which ever the user prefers.

What's your most popular product or service?

The in-home Geriatric Assessment and the subsequent Navigation Plan- a customized plan of care with detailed & prioritized action items to increase safety and wellness. An experienced Registered Nurse provides a home visit that includes an instant safety assessment and real-time recommendations for increasing elder wellness. A comprehensive written plan is provided.

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?

When families seek senior care-related advice and solutions, they also need to consider safety, lifestyle and financial-legal issues and solutions. The ElderCompass founder, Nancy Martens, RN, CSA, was asked to speak on this very topic at this year's American Society on Aging, Aging in America Conference in Chicago, IL.

When was the business founded?

July 2010

How did your business come to be?

As a practicing registered nurse, I noticed recurrent trends. Many families AND professionals serving seniors, were not always sure where to start and whom to trust when planning senior-related care and making life-style changes. I wanted to answer questions and help families and professional make swift and accurate decisions that have positive and meaningful outcomes for elders.

Why did you choose the area you did?

I have deep-rooted love for serving seniors and have been a professional nurse for more than 20 years. We want to ensure that families and professionals have an unbiased resource when they need answers to serving the unique needs of one of our fastest growing demographics in the world. As a professional nurse, I have a unique perspective that can connect safety/medical/lifestyle/legal-financial issues together to solve elder care problems. Ultimately, we hope to connect with seniors and their families BEFORE they have a crisis and focus on wellness and aging safely.
