Realtors office donates funds to support emerging artist gallery at art center

' Birmingham office recently donated funds to help support the DeForrest/Watson Ramp Gallery for Emerging Artists at the .

"Max Broock not only supports the BBAC with a generous monetary donation each year, they also enable emerging artists like abstract painter Susan Morosky of Highland to display her paintings in the Max Broock Realtor offices in Birmingham," said Annie VanGelderen, interim president and CEO of the BBAC.

The gallery is named after Max Broock real estate agents Michael DeForrest and Keith Watson.

"(This) allows us to tell people about the BBAC," DeForrest said. "People sometimes forget it's there. It is such a great place with so many different workshops and classes."

Specialty shop celebrates 3rd anniversary

will celebrate its three-year anniversary during a special party 6-9 p.m. Thursday. The event, which will take place at the specialty boutique on Pierce Street, will feature refreshments and hor d'oeuvres from .

Local boutique launches new holiday scarf line

Denise Illitch Designs (DID) has launched a new scarf line inspired by the holiday season. Designs include the animal print, fringe, signature and cocktail lines and are available in everything from skinny to shawl size. Price average around $100.

"Scarves are a wonderful way to accessorize any outfit," DID founder Denise Illitch said. "I love scarves that have movement like beautiful fringe."
