Business Brief: Therapeutic Massage Studio Set to Open in February

Birmingham's newest massage studio will specialize in deep-tissue, sports and prental rubdowns as well as using hot stones.

Discover the newest way to unwind and relax in Birmingham: Elements Therapeutic Massage will be opening at 755 E. Maple Rd. in the Kroger shopping plaza on Feb. 4.

Unlike other massage services that primarily offer Swedish massages (meant for gentle stress relief and relaxation), massage therapists at Elements — a company based in Highlands Ranch, CO with studios across the country — will specialize in deep-tissue massages, prenatal massages, hot stone massages and sports massages.

"There is huge growth potential for Elements in the health and wellness industry," said Adam Wilensky, the Michigan-born owner of the Birmingham Elements Therepeutic Massage. "We're focusing on providing deep-tissue and customized therapeutic massage services, versus the cookie-cutter relaxation mssage and discount spa services like facials that other massage concepts tout."
