Birmingham ACO Hardware Is Out

Will ACE Hardware be moving in anytime soon? The property manager won't say, but a deal is imminent.

The Aco Hardware in Adams Square is now closed after a company-wide restructuring that shuttered multiple locations in Metro Detroit.

Workers cleared out the shelving units and cleaned the barren store Tuesday and Wednesday.

Reviews of the liquidation sales were mixed by passers by and shoppers over the past few weeks.

"I got one or two things, but nothing big," said one man who stopped to peek through the foggy windows Wednesday, but did not want to give his name. "Rumor is it's going to be an ACE Hardware, so what's the difference? One letter."

Mike Lasky of Kolar Commercial Group would not confirm or deny speculation about suitors for the property on Wednesday, but did say there was high interest. He said he expected a deal could be finalized early next month.
