Best Thing We Ate This Week: Savannah Bar Heaven

We loved this soft, fruit-filled granola bar from the Great Harvest Bread Company.

Frankly, I'm not 100 percent sure what was in my Savannah Bar from . All I know is that it was delicious and I already want another one.

A happy confluence of cooked strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, as well as brown-sugary granola, the end result is sweet and fresh. Yet the bar also feels like fall: I don't know if it's the colors (burnt red and brown) or what it reminds me of (apple crisps and blueberry pies).

I enjoyed my Savannah Bar as a snack, but I can see it served as both breakfast and dessert. The bar's only downfall may be that it's incredibly rich — perhaps sharing would have been the better choice in my case.

So next time you pop into Great Harvest to pick up your weekly loaf of bread, indulge a little bit. The Savannah Bar is placed temptingly on the front counter, so give it a try. Share some with your kids or significant other (they'll think it's a special occasion). I don't think you'll regret it.
