Best Thing We Ate This Week: Ice Cream on the First Day of Summer
It's hot out this week, so what better way to celebrate the first day of summer than checking out a Birmingham favorite?
It's been hot this week — really hot. So for this week's Best Thing We Ate, I thought: what better way to cool down than with ice cream?
, so this time I checked out the on the south end of town, on Woodward Avenue just north of 14 Mile. I live on the north side of town, and the Dairy Mat is just a quick bike ride away, and so I wasn't as familiar with the Dairy Deluxe although I've heard plenty of Birmingham residents rave about it.
And for good reason too: my vanilla cone dipped in sprinkles (although as you can see, they are not the patriotic sprinkles I was promised on the menu) hit the spot perfectly on a hot day. I also like the Dairy Deluxe's comprehensive menu of frozen yogurt treats as well. I may not be a yogurt fan, but I know a lot of folks who are.
