Library Picks: Mysteries, 'Kill the Irishman' and More

New at Baldwin Library this week is releases from a trio of mystery authors and a Michigan-made film from the Uptown Film Festival.

This week's latest releases including a batch of mysteries and a Michigan-made film that premiered in Birmingham during the Uptown Film Festival March 11. This week's Library Picks are: 

Kill the Irishman (DVD)

Over the summer of 1976, thirty-six bombs detonate in the heart of Cleveland while a turf war rages between Irish mobster Danny Greene and the Italian mafia. The film chronicles Greene's heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood hero to become an enforcer in the local mob. Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns and allying himself with gangster John Nardi, Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power.

Starring Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken and Fray Stevenson, Kill the Irishman premiered Birmingham's own March 11-12.
