The Music Man

's Sara Smith Productions Youth Theatre presents Meredith Wilson's The Music Man, one of Broadway's most enduring shows. Directed by Mitch Master, with Dan Grieg as the music director, The Music Man is an enjoyable look at small town USA and a bygone era, following fast-talking salesman Harold Hill as a he cons the townspeople of River City into forming a boys' band.

All proceeds will benefit the Sara Smith Productions Youth Theatre. Performances will be held on the Sara Evelyn Smith Stage in the Wallace Ballroom at The Community House. All tickets purchsed online can be picked up at The Community House or at will call the day of the show.

Auditions and rehearsals

Auditions are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 7 from 5-8 p.m. or Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The audition process wil be 2-3 hours in length, and parents must be present. A one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a favorite son with music will be required. Also, be prepared to learn a short dance routine and list all schedule conflicts.

First rehearsal begins Saturday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. All Saturday and Wednesday rehearsals are mandatory, as well as the week of Feb. 26-March 4 (dates subject to change).
