Premiere of 'From the Beaches of Normandy to the Jungles of Vietnam'

American House Senior Living Communities is sponsoring a red carpet Patriot Week event at the on Sept. 13 to honor over 300 community veterans and their families from Troy, Rochester, Birmingham and Bloomfield Township.

The evening will begin at 4 p.m. with the premiere of the film From the Beaches of Normandy to the Jungles of Vietnam.The film is a 95-minute compilation of the award-
winning documentaries Detroit, Our Greatest Generation and Our Vietnam Generation.

American House communities are collecting photos of all veterans planning to attend and will create a patriotic video montage in honor of them. John Kulhavi, retired Brigadier General and Huey Fighter Pilot, will deliver a keynote speech inviting the veterans to stand and be saluted by several notable officers in attendance, including Sen. John Pappageorge, a retired Colonel.

Additionally, a photographer will be on site to take photos of veterans and their families free of charge. American House will also be honoring residents and their families with a complimentary dinner following the premiere.

American House will also be presenting the film One Soldier’s Story at the Birmingham 8. This film features the life of local hero Sgt. Michael Ingram, Jr. who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while serving in Afghanistan. The film will be preceded by remarks from Judge Michael Warren and Keith Famie, director of One Soldier’s Story.
