Harvest Festival

Learn more about Birmingham’s agricultural heritage at the Farmers Market Harvest Festival (previously Hay Day). In addition to the area’s freshest produce, families will learn about the evolution of farming with hands-on activities for all ages.

Shoppers will enjoy watching a live sheep-shearing demonstration and feeling the brand new wool. Children will have an opportunity to shell corn all by themselves using an old-fashioned corn sheller. A variety of antique farm tools and machines will be on display, in addition to live entertainment and a free craft for children. Shoppers can see and pet farm animals at the event, courtesy of Bowers School Traveling Farm. Expect to see rabbits, baby animals, a milking goat, pony and sheep.
