What a great first year for this festival! There was a lot of energy in the air and I noticed I wasn't the only one who came back a second day in a row. If you're observant you'll hear quite a few people speaking German which just adds to the uniqueness of this event.
You many find that you need to wait a bit in line for the food...but it's worth it and don't miss the opportunity to meet new friends in line. Everyone from Germany that we met in line or while eating together at the high top tables was so friendly and eager to share tips about the food and festivities. I may end up going back for day three so I can jump in a free horse drawn carriage or check out some live reindeer before they head back to the North Pole!

Yesterday on my street, I saw a tree, on city property, with 'stuff' piled high around the base ofRead More the tree. I tried to tell the two gentlemen there it would eventually kill the tree. 'Not so!' they replied, according to, I believe, their landscaper. They then proceeded to try and placate this nosy gray haired woman. Maybe someone from the city could clue them in??
