Video Spotlights Birmingham Students Volunteering With Habitat for Humanity

Birmingham students helped build walls with Habitat for Humanity Detroit on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

High school students from Birmingham Public Schools are the stars of a recent video spotlighting student volunteers with Habitat of Humanity.

The video, posted to Youtube on Jan. 26, was taken on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Birmingham students, wearing Groves High School and Birmingham United hockey sweatshirts — as well as hard hats and work gloves — helped Habitat volunteers in Detroit build walls during the day off from school.

"Thank you volunteers and family partners," writes Habitat for Humanity volunteer Keith Kol, who uploaded the video.
