Veterans Day Photos From Birmingham's Wreath Laying Ceremony

Citizens and elected officials honored those that serve in the military during the annual Veterans Day ceremony in Shain Park.

Birmingham said thanks to local veterans Monday during the annual Veterans Day ceremony in Shain Park. The ceremony, sponsored in part by the Daughters of the American Revolution, drew dozens out to commemorate the day.

“Veterans Day is a time for us to come together and recognize the outstanding honor and achievements of the brave men and women who have answered the call of duty to serve our nation," said U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-14th District, who was among the local, state and federal elected officials at the event. "Our veterans know firsthand that freedom has never been free, and all Americans owe our way of life to those willing to take up arms to defend all that we hold dear."
