Save the Date for the First Annual Teddy Bear Tea

A portion of the proceeds from the charity event will be donated to the Birmingham-based nonprofit, The Bottomless Toy Chest.

Attention little ladies and their teddy bear friends: tea is almost ready.

Birmingham's Townsend Hotel will be hosting its first annual Teddy Bear Tea next weekend, a charity event with proceeds benefiting the Birmingham nonprofit, The Bottomless Toy Chest. 

The event, which begins at 1 p.m. March 23, will feature a kid-friendly afternoon tea menu for Metro Detroit's little girls, parents and their teddy bears, as well as an opportunity to decorate some teddy bear cookies.

Plus, at the end of the afternoon, the Townsend Hotel will be raffling off a giant teddy bear to one lucky young person. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each. 

A portion of all proceeds will benefit The Bottomless Toy Chest, Townsend Managing Director Steven Kalzynski said, a nonprofit that donates new toys and games to hospitalized children battling cancer.

Tickets to the Teddy Bear Tea are $40 per person and includes one complimentary raffle ticket; $10 from each ticket will be donated to The Bottomless Toy Chest.
